The KOS1600B is a smart drive conditioner/converter for bridge type transducers for use with load cells or strain gauges.

The converter incorporates the ability to scale the input signal to engineering values, while the output supplies voltage, bipolar voltage, or active/passive current loop.

The converter incorporates an AC/DC power supply that can operate in the range (10 to 48) V DC and (10 to 32) V AC, which allows the use of batteries for its power supply. An additional voltage-free contact enables remote tare with a remote switch. The high precision of the input step of the converter allows to use a 5V DC excitation instead of the traditional 10V DC. In this way the reduces the power required by the bridge and allows the connection of up to four bridges at the input.

The converter incorporates two front buttons that can be enabled or disabled through the software. The pushbuttons allow the user to perform an active calibration. The low (offset) and high (span) limits of the output signal are set against an actual signal applied to the input.

The converter uses the metric ratio measurement to obtain high stability. The converter uses a USB port for configuration, which together with the USB-LINK software allows the user to take advantage of the complete specifications of the converter. In addition, the user can read the actual process data when connected to the PC, facilitating offset and span calibration.

If the configuration is not specified when ordering, the KOS1600B is supplied with a 2mV/V input range and a 4-20mA output.
